My inspiration to blog about this comes from a chat with a friend A who shared about her and her friends’ encounter with a fortune teller. She and that group of friends were all ladies, single and had not much luck in love all these while. In fact, one of them, let’s call her B, had considerably worse luck in this aspect as she was hurt twice by jerks in the course of her romantic encounter. It was one of those days when the mood beckons that B decided to pay a visit to this fortune teller for consultation and naturally brought along her group of single friends which included A who was single thenand other friends which included another lady C.

This fortune teller’s modus operandi comes in the form of reading people’s fortune by pulling out poker cards that were shuffled by the client. It was not clear if the ladies had unwittingly let out some information of the state of matter for B in the course of conversation with the fortune teller. But he was able to predict that B had bad luck in romance because she always meet “bad Peach Blossom烂桃花” in Chinese, which means that she, in terms of her romantic relationship matters, always meets the bad guys.

The solution proposed by the fortune teller? A pair of scissors to be placed in the Southwest corner of the room/house of lady B. He reasoned that the scissors will cut away the negative “Peach Blossom” and that Southwest is the love corner which is reserve for Fengshui-ing romance and love matters. The ladies were curious and enquired whether the scissors will “cut” away all romantic relationships alike, whether it be with good or bad guys. The fortune teller then justify by explaining to them that good guys or good romance will not be cut away and the scissors only acts on bad guys and bad relationships.

He then proceeded to display his “generous” and “altruistic” side by telling the rest of the single ladies that Southwest is the universal love corner in Fengshui. Since the ladies are single, they can turbo-charge their love corners in the Southwest by placing flowers and crystals. Like typical girls starved of good romance, these ladies with the exception of A, are willing to try the cures for romance recommended by this fortune teller. The reason why A did not follow the recommended cure is because the Southwest corner in her room is placed the bed, and she could not place those items suggested by the fortune teller.

Now, fast forward to 2-3 years later and what is the romantic fate of these girls? For Ms B, she is still single and in fact, had not gone on dates with guys since activating the Southwest corner of hers. For Ms C and the rest of the unnamed gals, they are still single. As for Ms A, who had fortunately or unfortunately not adopted the recommended Fengshui cure, she is married!

Now, with the facts of this case, it would strongly suggest that the Southwest may not be the universal Fengshui-able love corner. Even if it is, it may not be effective enough just to activate this corner by flowers and crystals. The outcome to Ms B also suggested that good guys or good romance are not invincible against the scissors as claimed by the fortune teller. As for the outcome to Ms A, it shows that a stroke of good luck and her own sensible action in seeking romance is more effective than those poorly thought-out cures.

Is it possible to use Fengshui or Chinese Metaphysics knowledge to enhance the chances of good romantic encounters? Yes it is possible but defnitely not as simple as activating a universal love corner! In Zi Wei Dou Shu, it is certainly possible to differentiate where the good and bad romantic encounters are coming from and tune accordingly.

Over the weekend, I had a Feng Shui audit assignment. After the audit is over, the client had a drink with me and enquired as to how one can ascertain if a person is gay from the Bazi or Zi Wei Dou Shu chart of that person. I gladly obliged and explain using the Zi Wei Dou Shu (”ZWDS”) chart of a gay person, how we can be sure that person is a gay.

Some of you may think it is no big deal given that there are some write ups in the market on what are the tell-tale signs in a Bazi or ZWDS chart of a gay. However, having research extensively these writeups in the market, I remain convinced the authors of these writeups made little headway in the technique of determining a gay Bazi or ZWDS chart. The reason for my saying so is because they use very general rules like “overly Yang or overly Yin Bazi” or “Yang star in the Self Palace of a female ZWDS chart or Yin star in the Self Palace of a male ZWDS chart. This is like the chef proclaiming he can whip up a dish of Indian curry because he can best describe the dish as spicy – the fundamental description is right but vague and does nothing to suggest the efficacy of the sayer.

Bazi and ZWDS originated from ancient China whereby homosexuality does not exist or is not known to exist. Naturally, there are no classical text from the forefathers of Bazi and ZWDS that touch on determining homsexuality from their respective astrological charts. However, the principles of these arts are applicable in the modern society as well. What is required, is for a practitioner of these arts that are able to apply the principles of these 2 arts in the modern context by thorougly understanding the principles behind rather than by memorizing classical texts of these arts by hard.

There are some Bazi and ZWDS practitioners that staunchly takes the view that being gay is an acquired lifestyle because in the Bazi and Zi Wei Dou Shu clearly divides the line between Yin and Yang and therefore gay-ism (whereby Yin and Yang are mixed) does not conform to the laws of nature. Likewise the staunchest of followers of religion will also take the stand that homosexuality is not inborn because their gods will not have in their blueprint, gays that are neither end of the sexuality spectrum.

For those that are practising Bazi or ZWDS and takes the view that gay-ism is an acquired lifestyle (because Yin and Yang are distinct) can do better with understanding the classical phrase in our study of “in every Yin there is Yang, in every Yang, there is Yin). If homosexuality is not inborn, we will never be able to determine it from the astrological (ie Bazi and Zi Wei Dou Shu) charts of gays. Having analysed the astrological charts of many celebrity and non-celebrity gays, I am convinced that my self-developed methods of determining gay-ism from the astrological charts are accurate.

“Apple rises to become No. 1 tech firm” reads the headlines of the newspapers. In fact few days ago, having already sense the turn of tide of Apple’s domination, I had googled for Steve’s Job, CEO of Apple Inc, for his birth date and hour.

When I found the birth data, I will exihilated at the thought of dissecting his potentials and achievements using Zi Wei Dou Shu (ZWDS) Astrology. ZWDS astrology is also known as Purple Star or Emperor Astrology. The exhilaration soon gave way to disappointment as the ZWDS analysis did not throw up anything that bears semblance to that of the CEO of the number 1 technology firm in the world.

Upon more extensive research of the history of Steve Jobs then did I realize that he was an adopted child and the birth data I obtained was provided by his foster relatives. The reliability of the birth data was also questioned by the website. There you go, ZWDS never lies!

If someone else uses Bazi (also known as 4 Pillars) astrology to analyse this set of unrealiable birth data of Steve Jobs, he may instead, be able to spin a story or two about how well the Bazi chart fit into Steve Job’s background. 4 Pillars astrology is a more open ended tool that lends itself into ambiguous territory. This is not a case of picking on one isolated case of ambiguity to discredit the tool. I remember it also happened before with different groups of Bazi practitioner each justifying that 3 differing sets of 4 Pillars chart fit into Michael Jackson’s autobiography. Apparently there were 3 differing sets of birth data of Michael Jackson’s floating in the internet. 3 sets of birth data can fit into Michael Jackson’s life history? Readers can figure out what I mean.

There is always a reason why ZWDS astrology was practised exclusively in ancient Chinese Imperial Palaces whle its cousin Bazi was allowed to circulate among commoners. Bazi is definitely still a useful tool and I use it frequently too. I am only calling for it to be used appropriately.

Like Tiger Woods’ chart, John Terry also has a Transformed Authority Star in his Zi Wei Dou Shu (”ZWDS”) Destiny Palace. Mere coincidence or consistent pattern?

The concept of the Authority Star is that you must be capable before you will given authority. In ZWDS, we can surmise that the person is a capable person if he has the Transformed Authority Star. His Transformed Authority Star is triggered by ?? Wu Qu. In ZWDS, Wu Qu symbolizes a General and Leader. Small wonder that John Terry was the Captain of the England Football Team until he was forced to give up tee Captain’s armband by the team manager.

In Bazi perspective, John Terry is a strong Daymaster, source of his strength coming mainly from Indirect Resource and Friend Element. Indirect Resource represents unorthodox thoughts while Friend represents a stubbornness. Can we say that John Terry’s misdemeanour is more a result of his own doing? Notice that his girlfriend element, is represented by earth and rather weak in the chart. This means usually he would not have that many chance to have flings. But unfortunately in 2009, the year is Ji Chou a year of strong earth. Hence his girlfriend element is strengthened. Not forgetting that Ji element combines with his day element of Jia. With this observation, I would think that John Terry would not repeat such flings in the coming years although he cannot claim to be a victim of being courted and seduced.

Looking at his series of Transformation Stars exchange between his Destiny Palace and Romance Palace, it would also suggest that while his lover only heap attention on him, he is the one that makes the move because it was a Transformed Authority Star that his Destiny Palace fires out. When we see the Transformed Authority Star, it suggests the action comes from the owner of that particular Palace. Hence, my view is that John Terry cannot use a mitigating plea that those women threw themselves at his feet.

What about his exploits in soccer? I can see that his luck is coming down especially with this year being the last belonging to the current decade luck. By next year, his decade luck will be poorer. Maybe Chelsea should sell him by end of this season! In fact this year looks like a difficult year for him as well. The England Football team may have make the right choice not to name him as the Captain, otherwise their World Cup dreams will go up in smoke.

I am sure by now most of us would have been aware of the saga revolving around Tiger Woods. What struck me is that there seems to be 2 ideologically opposite camps of people in their assessment of Woods’ sexual trysts with many women as a married man. On the opposing camp, they view Woods as an outright marriage cheat who deserves no pity while the other camp feels that given his superstar and ultra rich status, which sees to many women throwing themselves at him, it is understandable that he had strayed.Out of curiosity, I just wanted to see if he deserves the pity from an astrology point of view. Astrology does not seek to exonerate anyone of his wrong doing but more importantly to assess if he is a victim of circumstances or immoral perpetrator. His birth date is listed as 30 December 1975 and hour is listed as 22:50 hrs. To be sure that these information are really representative of him, I did a quick check of the publicly known events to happen to him so far and it does jive with the 30 Dec 1975, 22:50 hrs birth chart.

In Bazi perspective, Woods is a weak Daymaster with plentiful wealth elements and is duly strengthened and positioned to overcome wealth in the current luck pillar. By the way, in Bazi, Wealth represents money as well as woman to male Daymaster. It is small wonder that he amassed so much wealth and bedded so many women. In Bazi, a weak Daymaster rides more on luck than on his own doing.

Now’s let switch over to using Zi Wei Dou Shu (”ZWDS”) to assess Woods. He has a Tian Liang Transformed Authority Star in his ZWDS Destiny Palace. A Transformed Authority Star usually represents capability and it is small wonder that he did so well in golf. But does that also mean his trysts are borned out of his capability?

It is interesting to note that this capability was bestowed on him by the general public, if we use ZWDS to assess the source of this capability. In addition, his Romance Palace shoots stars into his “Self” and marriage related palaces. This can be construed as the women throwing themselves at his feet.

For further detailed analysis of Tiger Woods’ Astrological charts, please visit my forum at http://fengshuiforward.com/forum/index.php/topic,1788.msg13972.html#msg13972 . At this juncture, I still have some pity for him.

Happy Chinese New Year to all!

Chinese Zodiac Forecast are part and parcel of Chinese New Year Festivity. In the months before and during the first month of Chinese New Year, there are many versions of such forecasts which sought to forecast the luck of all people in this world by dividing them into 12 groups of the Chinese zodiac sign based on the year each person is born in. Yes, all one needs to check is whether he/she is born in the Year of the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Ram, Monkey, Rooster, Dog or Pig, and viola, he/she will know her luck for the whole year!

However, we need to know that historically, all such forecasts differ greatly from one forecaster to another. In fact, as I was doing my usual Chinese New Year visitations to relatives’ home, I overheard my cousin lamenting that the prediction of Fengshui Master A, differed from that Fengshui Master B, both of whom appeared on the first and second day of Chinese New Year TV programs respectively. Now, does that mean that Chinese Zodiac forecasts are merely hogwash?

First of all, I will agree that it is overly simplistic and generalized to forecast the luck of all people in this world by breaking them down to 12 broad groups. If one wants to have their luck forecasted, it is much better to use the combined tools of Zi Wei Dou Shu (ZWDS) and Ba Zi because they classify people into much many smaller groups than 12 broad groups.

Secondly, using a broad based tool is always saddled by the skill of the user of the tool. Take for instance, a scenic painting has the sun on the top right, sky on the top left, mountain on the bottom right, tree on the bottom center and river on the bottom left. If the Fengshui Master has microscopic view, he could be interpreting the painting based on particular sectors of the painting on the left, right, center, top or bottom. Meaning, one may tell you the painting is that of a mountain while another may tell you it is the painting of the sun and a third Fengshui Master may tell you it is the painting of a river.

Well, are these Fengshui Masters correct? You can say that technically, they are correct. But are they telling you the essence of the painting? No! What a skilled Fengshui Master would have interpreted is that this is a painting of Mountain ABC during sunrise.

So, the next time you read or watch such Chinese New Year Forecast based on the 12 Zodiacs, take it with a pinch of salt!

Many Bazi practitioners committed the fundamental flaw of reading a Bazi based on a birth date without the hour of birth. Imagine a car without its exhaust or a house without its roof. Is it functionally still the same car or house we expect it to be?

Hindsight is 20-20. It is child’s play to correlate on hindsight what happened to a person against the 25% incomplete Bazi. An incomplete Bazi is like a Bazi without its boundary. You can easily fit any event that took place into the boundary-less Bazi.

So what can one do if he does not know his hour of birth? Simple – he can consult a Chinese Astrologer that specializes in Zi Wei Dou Shu (ZWDS). For Bazi, people born under the same day are not vastly different. Hence it is harder to use Bazi to pinpoint the correct hour of birth. Whereas for ZWDS, every 2 hour yields a diametrically different chart which then makes it much more clear cut to determine which hour the person is born in by matching against his occurences or even against his looks.

As every 2 hour difference throws up a chart of a person with different personality and look, I have had tried many times to reverse-engineer it and guess the configuration of stars in one’s chart before I plot it out.

For example, I just had a friend given me her birth date and hour to read her destiny. Before I plotted out her chart, I proceeded to hazard a guess on the stars in her chart that gives rise to her appearance. Bingo! I have hit the bulls eye so many times that I have the confidence to nail down his/her hour of birth by simply looking at his appearance, personality and some events that happened in his life.

This is definitely a much better alternative than three-quartered Bazi reading.

Previous reports revealed that the TV star bought a S$1.4 million property when he got married in 1994, but suffered tremendous losses when he sold it for S$800,000 in 2005, after his divorce. He also fell prey to an unscrupulous business partnership, when his trusted partner cheated him. Past experiences have taught him not to be too trusting nowadays when doing business.

“Only venture into areas which you are familiar with, what you hear may not always be accurate. It’s only when you are familiar with something that you would spend more time researching on it. Others may tell you that this is a window of opportunity, and it may not be open for long. But that’s not the case. Opportunities will always be there; never follow blindly or be tempted by others’ returns. Investments should be considered and made within one’s own means; loans may turn out to be a bigger liability, which makes it an unwise decision.”

After three long years, the King and Queen of Caldecott Hill reunite once again for the in Channel 8’s drama event of the year.
“The similarities are most evident in the gambling scenes, with all the chips, dice, and poker cards. The persona, the looks, and the moves, are all very distinctive for a King of Gamblers.”

Zoe Tay shares on working with Li again, “I noticed a significant change in him. Maybe it has to do with his recent lifestyle and habits. He is much more dedicated now, happier at work, jokes a lot, and has more opinions to share. He used to just sit quietly by himself and doesn’t talk much. Now, he has gotten more cheerful.”

Four years after his divorce with actress Yang Libing, Li shares that he has no plans for a new family.

In the practice of Chinese Astrology methods of Ba Zi and Zi Wei Dou Shu, the hour of birth of a person is what makes the Astrology chart of a person complete on top on the date of birth. While Li Nan Xing’s date of birth is easily available on the internet, we are still short of the hour of birth to construct the full Ba Zi & Zi Wei Dou Shu chart.

However, given the several events that happen in his life it is possible to corroborate these events with the time pillar of birth by elimination method. Take for example, given his marriage ending in divorce, the Di Jie star in his Spouse Palace would have fit the bill. Obviously one test is not sufficient for us to arrive at this conclusion. I have performed a few analysis on his looks, his wealth and business problems to come into this conclusion. I have tried it and is confident that Li Nan Xing should be born in the Si Hour time pillar of 9-1059am.

One of the most common type of question I get as a Fengshui, Bazi and Zi Wei Dou Shu (ZWDS) practitioner is that asking which type of career or occupation suits them. Indeed the Chinese Astrology Art of ZWDS and Bazi is able to accurately determine the type of career that suits a person most because it can tell us a person’s character, ability, interests and luck.

However, I have observed that there are very few Bazi practitioners that are able to accurately advise their clients what is a really suitable profession for them. How did such an accurate astrological tool end up to such a sorry state? The root of the problem stems from these Bazi practitioners failing to understand the context for which the rules of this ancient art were set up.

Ancient China Bazi practitioners classified all jobs within 5 categories of elements consisting of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water by matching the key traits of jobs to metaphysical elemental properties of these 5 elements. During such medieval times, they had at most 72 types of job which can further be grouped into 5 main types comprising of businessman, farmer, fisherman, government officials and academics. Hence, classifying each occupation under 1 of the 5 elements is straightforward then.

They will proceed to read the Bazi charts of their client and determine their favorable elements. Finally, they will advice these clients to take up a job listed in the category of their favorable element. Note also the pace of life folks living in ancient China is relaxed and the mindset then is not so much about making big bucks but more about leading a not so hectic life.

Unfortunately most of these Bazi practitioners are copying such ancient Bazi practices lock, stock and barrel without much understanding the context and modifying it to suit modern society’s lifestyle and mindset as well as the much more complex range of occupations. In Bazi, favorable elements are usually the element that we are in shortage of because the general principle of favorable elements is to balance out the elemental unevenness in one’s Bazi chart.

If one’s favorable element is one that this person’s Bazi chart has shortage of, suffice to say, he will be weaker in the qualities for which that particular element represents. For example, metal represents perseverance and a person who has metal as his favorable element generally can be said to score lower in terms of perseverance. As such, how can a person who lacks perseverance do well in a job that is the epitome of perseverance?

Why did ancient Bazi practitioners advocate client to take up an occupation one is weak in? That is partly because in ancient China, the pace of life is much slower and hence it was more important then to lead a sedentary lifestyle which can only be brought about by using one’s occupation to balance out one’s Bazi deficiency. In modern society, the emphasis has changed to excelling in one’s occupation even if this means a poorer quality of life brought about by hectic work schedule.

The other issue that makes such a method of advising occupation based on favorable elements’ industry inaccurate is because jobs have evolved in complexity and variety that makes it difficult to classify them exclusively into either one of the 5 elements anymore. For example engineering is classified as wood but electronics and mechanical stuff are classified as fire and metal respectively. So what then is the elemental classification of electronic engineering and mechanical engineering?

As such, I hope Bazi practitioners and believers alike will assiduously consider the context and relevance when practicing and following this art that has evolved from ancient times. I will write an article on my method of deciding the favorable occupation based on a person’s birth data soon. Stay tuned.

Back to our topic on daymasters. Bing fire daymaster, which is associated with the Sun, is easy going, straight forward and passionate people. Like a blazing sun, they do not like to dwell on insignificant or petty things and prefers to spend their energy taking care of people around them!

Bing daymasters tend to be abit proud and like to attract attention. They are sociable and fun loving people. The best thing of all is they are magnanimous! Hence, although they may be impulsive at times and blow things out of proportion, you can expect them to have relatively short temper.

Bing daymasters are charged with energy of the sun and demonstrate enthusiasm in their daily activities. Believe me, you will never feel tired working with a Bing daymaster!
