I just came back from an overseas trip and flipped open the newspapers and saw an interesting article.

LOS ANGELES: What goes around comes around?

After the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 55-point loss to the Los angeles Lalkers on Tuesday, LeBron James wrote a tweet about his former team”"Karma is a b****. Gets you every time. It’s not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!”

James claimed he was only forwarding a message sent to him, but many saw it as a reference to the way he was treated by Cleveland, his home club, after he announced his move to Miami last year.

On Wednesday, karma bit back as the Heat’s 13-games road-winning streak ended in a 105-111 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, one of the worst teams in the Western Conference.

- The Straits Times, Singapore 14 January 2010

Karma is a word too often abused, too often brutalized by people who used it for their convenience. Crying Karma does not beget good Karma. It is beyond mortals like us to pass judgement, karmic ones in particular.

The question Chinese Metaphysics practitioners and consultants are mostly inundated with is “What is the cure or solution?” It is a widely known fact that people turn to Feng Shui and Astrology mostly when they encounter with problems.

This also partly explains why Feng Shui consultation are priced higher than Astrology and Divination consultations because Feng Shui has been known to layman as the remedy tool of Chinese Metaphysics. Most people thought of Astrology as character/human potential assessment tool and Divination as event outcome assessment tool. A remedy tool is perceived to have a higher value than assessment tool.

Although such a commonly held perception is not wrong, it is a rather shallow understanding of how holistic these 3 tools are. An individual’s destiny and outcome is dependent on the cosmic trinity of Heaven, Earth and Man Luck. Heaven and Earth Luck affect us mostly subconsciously. Feng Shui practices improve our luck without us feeling it directly because its effects evolve overtime and are blended in with the environment.

Now, can we do anything consciously to also improve our luck? The answer is a resounding yes! Man Luck is a very critical part of destiny and outcome. Lest we forget, Man, besides Heaven and Earth, are part of the environment. Man Luck can be assessed with Astrology Tools but the icing on the cake can be made with Divination Tools. Astrology seeks to tell the strengths and weaknesses, the potentials and the types of destiny path one is availed to take. If we understand this aspect, we can condition ourselves to move in a certain direction to better our outcomes.

Even if we are running through good luck, choices need to be made everyday. These choices also change our destiny and outcome. For example, during a spate of good luck cycle, one may have 3 job offers on hand. While all 3 offers may be positive, definitely the benefit each job may bring to that person will differ meaningfully. Divination tool would have been the most appropriate tool to help us make choices in such situations.

Feng Shui cures are passive. Astrology and Divination cures are active and dynamic. I would not want to argue which one is better but the best way to improve one’s outcome is through his own actions. Unfortunately, a lot of people want to improve their luck without changing their own behavior or using their brain to make better choices. When we advise readers to avoid certain things or seek advice when opportunities come up, they often forget and make the choice based on their emotion or instincts. When things turn out negative, they blamed their advisors, they blamed the Feng Shui, they blame their destiny or their luck. In short, blame anyone and anything but themselves!

In actual fact, when things went wrong for someone, it usually is most directly a result of his own doing. The best way to improve luck is to find the cure within ourselves!

We all know the power of motivational speech and technique like Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). Yet, it is often contradicting that people who attend motivational talk organised by the likes of Anthony Robbins also consult fortune tellers. Presumably,it could be that they are eager to improve their fortune and curious about their future. For the Chinese, destiny has always been a fundamental aspect of one’s belief.

If everything is fixed by Fate, then why do we need motivation? Yet, deep down our mind, we know that blindly following Fate is often fatalistic and can be an enemy of motivation. Having discussed the issue of destiny with a fellow forum member, I felt that there is a need to discuss more about the concept of one’s destiny.

The many sayings claiming about Destiny’ s all pervasive influence on all walks of life showed that the Chinese culture acknowledges Destiny’ s stronghold. We all tend to have a passive resignation to Destiny because Destiny seems so mysterious and so powerful. When one studies carefully the record of human experience, we would have noticed that the majority of humanity are not living in good fortune. If Destiny really rules, then Destiny is more prone to create misfortune. Realising this, we must cultivate the desire to alter Destiny. And this is where motivational technique and chinese metaphysics come hand in hand.

Let me list one example whereby the ancient Chinese classic I Ching motivates us to overcome the hurdle of Destiny.

…the Book of Changes; hence it enables us to penetrate and understand the movements of the light and dark, of life and death, gods and demons. This knowledge makes possible mastery over Fate, because Fate can be shaped if its laws are known (Wilhelm 1951, p 296)

Hence, to overcome Destiny is to first understand that Destiny is real and that you need to know what Destiny is before you could overcome it! Know the rules of the game and you can bend it!

‘Fate is decided by Heaven, happiness is sought by oneself.’

Zi Wei Dou Shu (ZWDS)Chart comprises of twelve Houses and this include

1)House of Life 2) House of Father 3) House of Spiritual 4) House of Property 5) House of Career 6)House of superior 7) House of Environment 8)House of Health House of wealth 9)House of Children 10) House of spouse 11)House of children

Let me share with you more on the House of Spouse. House of spouse represents one ’s life partner and a ZWDS chart does give you the answer of the partner’s character, appearance and most of all whether she is supportive or not. It is also possible to see if the relationship will affect one’ s quality of life. Generally, it is not ideal for the House of spouse to be located at the four corners of a ZWDS chart ( Yin,Si,Shen, Hai) as it represents a relationship that is more prone to external influences and uncertainties.

How about using ZWDS to identify a philandering husband? Sound interesting?
If you notice that your Spouse palace contain Lu Cun or Hua Lu then it is possible that your spouse might have more opportunities with other women. Want to find out more? Sign up at our forum now!

Along my course of meeting people interested in destiny analysis, I have seen a lot of people with misconception about what is destiny and what is one’s outcome.

A lot of people wallow in self pity, blaming luck and destiny for their problems in life. It is true destiny plays a huge part in our lives because it sets the parameters for us. That is to say, if our destiny chart do not depict the potential of Bill Gates, we can forget about aspiring to be Bill Gates, even if we have the best Fengshui master to guide us or the best NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) guru realise our potential.

But if we look beyond this, most of us are currently operating at only 55 – 70% of our maximum potential only. If we make good decisions and adopt good choices, we can easily achieve much more than status quo. Don’t underestimate the impact of merely making good choices and correct decisions. I have seen somone with a grade B chart outperform someone with a grade A chart because the grade B chart owner has made the right decisions.

At the same time, I have also seen people with grade C charts mired in mediocrity. The purpose of knowing Bazi or ZWDS is not so much to tell you to stop trying to improve yourself. It is more so to let us understand we each have our own limits which we must come to terms with, as well as to let us identify our competent areas to focus on and maximise our outcomes.

Sadly, I still see a lot of people who become negative after knowing the defects their chart depict. But of course, there are some that are in much better shape after understanding their destiny charts, because they weed out the problematic areas in their life to stop letting such negative aspects affect their lives and decisions.

Regards,
