Anyone has any recommendation for cure to my current skin problem eczema?

Eczema include dryness and recurring skin rashes which are characterized by one or more of these symptoms: redness, skin edema (swelling), itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding.

My eczema has been bothering me  few years ago and it ceased then now it comes back.
I been to the National Skin Centre and been given antibotics + cream to apply. It seemed to healed after some long time.

However the problem is back(persistant for almost few months) and affecting my life(feel itchy often) now.
Any thing or ways can help me like TCM as I have been to Western doctor already.

thanks!

Hi makofate,

Have you tried to use non-soap based cleanser (or glycerin free soap)? Most likely you have..I do not know about the TCM solution, but I had the same problem back in December and it came back briefly in January, because the weather was too cold and dry. It was at the back of my knee, and I scratched it a lot that it became swollen afterwards. Then I went to look for another cleanser that is more reliable and gentle, i.e., olive cleanser. I also applied the lotion from Jergens - Renew Daily Moisturizer (the one with 93% natural ingredients: grapeseed oil, blueberry & pomegranate extracts). I find that it really helps, but have to apply it a few times, or at least once per day.

There is a another lotion for Eczema treatment: Aveeno Eczema Care Moisturizing Cream (with oat formula). But I'm not sure if this brand is available everywhere. Jergens is most likely available in most of the countries. My case is perhaps less severe...as it has not come back for a while. If you have tried everything and no improvements, then TCM Is the way to go. I believe some forumers here will be happy to help and give you better suggestions.

Best regards,

Hi leecarrot,
Thanks for your advice.
Anyway im currently using emulsifying ointment BP prescribed by skin specialist  and also cetaphil found in pharmacy(recommanded by friend).

For moisturizer , once my own is used up maybe i get the jergens- renew daily moisturizer to test.

Hopefully someone can give some  good suggestions too. =)

Hi Makofate,

I hope to share some knowledge that may be useful to treat eczema.

From what I have read before, Eczema is often starts from what TCM calls moist heatiness 湿热 which eventually brings about damage to the spleen and blood.  You may consider consuming more barley or winter melon as one of those commonly available food that can clear such heatiness.

Your outbreak of eczema is usually very swift or slow?

Hi makofate,

You can try a concoction of 10gram Honey Suckle Flower 金銀花 & 10 gram Liquorice Root 甘草 .

Green bean soup is also good for this problem.

hi makofate,

I know tis topic has been posted long ago. If u return, u can try to buy tis cream - Dermasone 0.025%, tis cream can help u to relief the itchyness.

Btw.. Eczema -> no cure till now. Has to depend individuals.. Some can fully recovered but some will still get it on and off.

Hmm.. Tings u need to avoid

Try not to touch chemical stuff -> Detergent, Whitening Liquid etc..

Apply body lotion with ph5.5.. apply more moisturise cream..
Try not to scratch it.. Immediately, apply the cream when u feel itchy.. Bcoz it will spread if u go scratch it..

The few only advice.. Hope it helps..  Wink
