I will use QMDJ (Hour School) if there is a need for direction/location for the activity (yong shi) to take place with time factor requirement after selecting a suitable date. It is not my primary date selection tool.

How was the outcome compare to XKDG or others method of date selections? Any comment?

Hi xkfan,

Maybe you have misinterpreted my post or I have not made it clear enough for you.   Smiley

I will use QMDJ as a supplement to my date selection method on condition that there is a direction/location associated for the activity. Else, I will not use it.

Hi akaO,

Yes, QMDJ is suited for date selection generally when there is a need to find the location/direction for that day. It has be "linked" to a location/direction. QMDJ can't simply tell you "this day is a good day for all activities", even for day school QMDJ.  Another QMDJ date selection application is looking for the right chart for specific activity. This process of finding a suitable day is tedious as you have to scan through hour by hour, day by day to find a chart that fits a category for the particular purpose. If you manually plot the chart, I don't think you will want do it. An easy way out is to buy Peter Leung's QMDJ Date Selection Calendar, where everything is pre-calculated for you for each day and each chinese hour.

By the way, do you know who D.Twickens learns QMDJ from?  If you don't know, ask me  Smiley

Hi akaO,

I don't think QMDJ can help when confronting Sha or when the Sha is already disturbed. Based on my logic, if you're using Hour School QMDJ, the good sectors (eg. sheng men) are usable during the 2 hour period before it changes. Can you afford to change your sectors every 2 hours? Not practical even if you use Month School QMDJ - the Sha will still hit you somehow. I think better to stick to the traditional "huasha" or "fansha" methods. On the other hand, sha will usually hit you only at certain timing. If you know the timing and take precaution during that period or stay away from the house, then maybe you can escape from the sha, otherwise the sha is harmless.
